How many units is 2 mg of Retatrutide?

2 mg of Retatrutide is 40 units on a U-100 syringe at 5 mg/mL (10 mg + 2 mL): 2 ÷ 5 = 0.4 mL, and 1 mL = 100 units.

A different vial or water volume gives a different reading, so use the chart. Confusing units with mL has caused tenfold errors, as the FDA has documented.

10 mg + 2 mL = 5 mg/mL, so 2 mg is 0.4 mL, or 40 units on a U-100 syringe.

Readings above 100 units need more than 1 mL and do not fit one 100-unit barrel. "—" means the vial holds less than 2 mg.

Worked example

  1. Concentration. 10 mg ÷ 2 mL = 5 mg/mL (0.5 mg per 10 units).
  2. Volume. 2 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.4 mL.
  3. Units. 0.4 mL × 100 = 40 units on U-100 (20 on U-50, 16 on U-40).
  4. Check. 40 units fits a 0.5 mL (50-unit) barrel. 2 mg × 1,000 = 2,000 mcg.

Precision matters most at small readings: in a study of nurses measuring low insulin doses, syringe errors were largest at 2 units.

Frequently asked questions

How many units is 2 mg of Retatrutide on a U-100 syringe?

It depends on the concentration. At 5 mg/mL (10 mg + 2 mL) it is 40 units (0.4 mL). From a 5 mg vial in 2 mL it is 80 units; From a 12 mg vial in 2 mL it is 33.3 units.

Why isn't 2 mg always the same number of units?

A unit is a volume mark (0.01 mL on U-100), not an amount of substance. The same 2 mg takes up more volume in a weaker solution and less in a stronger one, so the reading changes with the vial size and the water added.

How do I work out 2 mg in units myself?

Divide the vial mg by the water mL to get mg/mL, divide 2 mg by that, then multiply by 100. For 10 mg in 2 mL: 2 ÷ 5 × 100 = 40 units.

What if the reading is over 100 units?

Then the amount needs more than 1 mL at that concentration and will not fit one 100-unit barrel. A smaller water volume makes the solution stronger and the reading smaller. Recheck the arithmetic before measuring anything.

Is this a Retatrutide dose?

No. 2 mg is used here only as a number to convert. Peptide Vial Math does arithmetic and never recommends an amount or schedule.
